In June 2022 Charlotte Howard took a reporting trip to Alaska to consider how that state is grappling with the desire to drill for oil, and the need to protect its fragile climate from a warming world. We’ve updated the story—which we first ran as a mini-series at the end of last year—to publish on our holiday break.
